Thursday, May 22, 2008 School Field Trip The Kindergarten through 5th grade students will go on a field trip to the Actor’s Playhouse on Miracle Mile to see the new award winning children’s musical called PAINT! Marc Chagall’s Colorful Musical Adventure. The musical traces Chagall’s journey from his humble roots as the 1st born child of a poor religious Jewish family in Russia to his international fame as an acclaimed painter. The trip is being made possible through the generosity of Norma Gordon who will be accompanying the children to the theater.

Friday, May 30, 2008 Annie Cast visits United Cerebral Palsy Members of the Annie cast will be visiting the students at United Cerebral Palsy in Miami to perform some of the musical numbers from the show. We are proud to be invited back after a wonderful visit over Chanukah by our 4th grade Day School students.

Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 1:30 to 3:30am AJSE Shavuot Celebration Volunteers are needed to assist with a Shavuot celebration by the members of the Adult Jewish Special Education group. The AJSE brought members to Beth David over Sukkot last fall. They had such a wonderful experience with us that they asked if they could come back again for Shavuot. Monday, July 7 to Friday, August 1, 2008 from 9:00am to 4:00pm – Summer Theater Camp
This summer your child will have the ultimate “Broadway” experience! With the guidance of talented and nurturing staff, campers will learn how to sing, act and move through workshops in projection, diction, creative thinking (improvisation) and confidence building. They will also have the chance to be a part of all the technical backstage work involved in putting on a show, such as set design, lighting, make-up and props. All activities will be preparing the children for a final performance of a “Broadway Jr.” musical. Beth David Member $1200. Non-Members $1500.
