Lay Leaders & Membership

Beth David is fortunate to have members who hail from all over the world, offer many different notions of what it means to be a conservative Jew and range in age from infants to active adults in their 90's.

We honor our boisterous diversity by being adequately represented in management of the synagogue, and by accommodating the hopes and by accommodating the hopes and desire of members who seek to participate in or create shul-based activities.

Beth David's board of directors and officers pilot the synagogue towards the future, serving membership desires and interest in cooperation with our Executive Director and Clergy. Presidents and executive vice presidents hold two year terms. The remaining officers and the members of the boards of directors serve on a rotating basis.

Lay members also contribute to Beth David by being involved in its activities. One of our greatest achievements is that member support guarantees twice-daily minyan services. Lay volunteers also run the Beck Museum of Judica and the Simons Library, both of which are fine, scholarly resources on Judaism.

Our Sisterhood makes sure that Shabbat is warm occasion and that Beth David's gift shop sparkles with beautiful buys. We also have several havurot to address the precise needs of our varied congregation. Our members are pivotal in designing and pulling off each year's many wonderful events.

In addition to working within the shul, Beth David participates in a program for feeding the homeless, and organizes outreach projects.
